🔮 Symbolic Approach
Dionysus, Vedic soma, eucharistic wine: drunkenness is a two-faced god, both opening and fall. Dreaming of being drunk often asks for a gentle possession—letting go of the Superego. Too drunk, you fear disappearing into the god. Refusing to drink when everyone else is: you keep an island of lucidity, or you punish yourself.
🛋️ Psychoanalysis (Freud & Jung)
Disinhibition, shame, addiction, missed party. Oneiric drunkenness says what you don't dare sober. Vomiting wine: rejecting a joy that became toxic. Making the other drink: you want them to let go, or you're repeating an alcoholic parent.
🧠 Neuroscience
A real glass, a hangover, a memory of losing control. The cerebellum (balance) and self-esteem replay. Nighttime thirst. This isn't an order to drink—nor proof of addiction on its own.
💡 Practical Advice
Where do you need to let go without destroying yourself? A dance, a laugh, a sober no. If real alcohol is a problem for you, the dream insists: talk to someone competent. Dionysus is also honored by staying on your feet.
