🔮 Symbolic Approach
Jacob's stone pillow, Egyptian headrests, the Japanese makura: you rest your head there so the world above can speak. A thief pillow (you suffocate), a fake rest. Someone else's pillow, you sleep on their dreams. Wet with tears, the support has drunk what you didn't say.
🛋️ Psychoanalysis (Freud & Jung)
Need for holding, faceless tenderness. Fighting for the pillow: couple territory. Pillow on the floor: depression, nothing left under the head. Hiding something underneath: a child's secret.
🧠 Neuroscience
You have your cheek on it: warmth, stiff neck, folded ear. Dull sound, real tears. The brain invents the support. Very banal, very telling.
💡 Practical Advice
Change a real sleep parameter (height, side, time). If the pillow is soaked, grant yourself a confidence. Rest is prepared; it is not begged from a symbol.
