🔮 Symbolic Approach
Almost everywhere people dream of the dead: lares, ancestors, "visits". It is not an upcoming notice, nor an order to join them. A peaceful parent transmits a remnant of connection. An angry parent points to an unsaid word, a debt of words, a missing rite — not a curse. The Chinese burn paper; others set an extra place: the dream often makes this gesture all on its own.
🛋️ Psychoanalysis (Freud & Jung)
Grief, idealization, delayed anger, invisible loyalty. Freud: grief work. They sometimes carry a message that is actually yours (permission, reproach). Both together: the inner parental couple, still in charge.
🧠 Neuroscience
The brain simulates attachment faces for a long time. Birthday, smell, illness, photo: triggers. Very common, generally non-pathological.
💡 Practical Advice
Say a phrase to them upon waking, then make a living gesture (light, meal, call to a sibling, grave if it soothes you). If the visits prevent you from living, grief counseling is better than a second oracle. You do not have to decode alone a pain that overflows into your day.
