🔮 Symbolic Approach
Bhikkhu, Zen monk, Benedictine, dervish: the man who left the marketplace. Meeting a monk is a call to silence, not necessarily religion. A corrupt monk, the sacred turned into control. A laughing monk, the path isn't sad. Becoming a monk overnight, an elegant escape.
🛋️ Psychoanalysis (Freud & Jung)
Asceticism, spiritual Superego, desire to escape sex/money/family. Ideal of the pure father. Or shame of the body covered by a robe. Jung: figure of the wise man—don't swallow whole.
🧠 Neuroscience
Travel, movie, bell, need for calm after saturation. The brain personifies "less stimuli" in a robe. Deep sleep vs real vow: two different things.
💡 Practical Advice
Treat yourself to an hour without notifications, not an improvised vocation. If the monk judges you, soften a rule that's too harsh. Silence is practiced; it shouldn't be imposed as punishment.
