🔮 Symbolic Approach
Red is blood, Mars, the first chakra, the vermilion of Chinese temples. It awakens: desire, anger, life. A luminous red (lantern, dress, fruit) announces a strength to inhabit. A dark, coagulated red speaks of a wound or pent-up fury. In alchemy, the rubedo is the work in red — integration, not explosion.
🛋️ Psychoanalysis (Freud & Jung)
Red = arousal. Love, shame, aggression, periods, urgency. If everything is red, you are in hyperactivation. A red detail (door, flower) points to the locus of desire. Jung links red to raw emotion before speech.
🧠 Neuroscience
Red catches visual attention even asleep: an alert signal. Stress, inflammation, a room that's too hot, menstrual cycle: the brain paints in red whatever "pulses."
💡 Practical Advice
Do you feel life or a threat? If it's life, take a visible step forward. If it's a threat, slow down the pace (breath, walk) before responding. Red doesn't like it when you pretend to be calm.
